Eine Kote (von altfranz.: quote, lat.: quota der wievielte Teil), eingedeutscht auch Höhenpunkt, ist die durch Höhenmessung festgelegte Höhe eines Geländepunkts, siehe Kartesisches Koordinatensystem. Daneben steht Kote auch für die Höhenachse.

Eine kotierte Projektion ist die zeichnerische Darstellung von Raumgebilden durch senkrechte Grundrissprojektion auf eine Horizontalebene (Rissebene, Zeichenebene) unter Beifügung von Zahlen (Koten), die die Höhe einzelner Punkte über der Projektionsebene angeben.
