Alkalimetallhydroxide sind die Hydroxide der Alkalimetalle. Die weißen Feststoffe lösen sich unter starker Erwärmung leicht in Wasser unter Bildung stark alkalischer Lösungen. Die Lösungen der Alkalimetallhydroxide wirken stark ätzend. Alkalimetallhydroxide sind Lithiumhydroxid, Natriumhydroxid, Kaliumhydroxid, Rubidiumhydroxid und Caesiumhydroxid. Sie entstehen bei der Reaktion der Alkalimetalle oder Alkalimetalloxide mit Wasser.
